Julie brings over 13 years of experience as a primary schoolteacher to her role as Project Manager for SES. She has overall responsibility for all aspects of Scotland's Enterprising Schools activity, including development and maintenance of effective relationships with other organisations and the promotion and management of CLPL delivery across all local authorities.
Prior to that, she has been self-employed and also worked with a number of small business start-ups. She never failed to be inspired by their creativity and resilience.
Julie is passionate about the use of enterprise in education to enhance learning and teaching, and to help young people develop the skills required for future success. She enjoys collaborating with practitioners to support the delivery of the curriculum through quality enterprise initiatives.
In the past, she has: tracked elephants for 20 days in Namibia; been a goat-farmer outside Brisbane; sold magic wands on the boardwalk in Maryland; and played ice hockey for the local women's team in Paisley. She's not sure what's next on her bucket list!
Our Vision is for Scotland to be a place where all young people are given the opportunity to have a rewarding future in work and life - no matter where they start their journey.
Our Mission is to inspire and equip young people, irrespective of their background, to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise education.
In everything that we do, we will work with the following values: Integrity, Enthusiasm, Creativity & Collaboration.
