Michelle is our Finance and HR Manager working alongside our external partners to support and ensure the correct compliance is followed. Michelle has worked for YES since 2005 and is our longest serving employee. She has a passion for all things HR and Finance and loves to learn new ways of working effectively and efficiently using technology. She enjoys helping to support and encourage our young employees that come through the Community Jobs Scotland (CJS) programme and impart her love of life-long learning on to them.
Michelle would say her best achievement while working with YES is helping our young CJS employees' gain work-related qualifications. Her favourite memory is when a former CJS employee received their Diploma in Business Administration and how proud they were of themselves and the self-belief that came with them achieving this whilst facing hardship in their personal life. This memory will stay with her for a long time.
Michelle is a proud mum of a son and daughter. She completed Tough-Mudder, a 12-mile obstacle course, shortly after having her youngest child. Her favourite memory from this day was jumping from a 12ft wall into water, which was terrifying.
Michelle has a passion for the environment, social-justice, and equal access to resources and services for everyone.
Our Vision is for Scotland to be a place where all young people are given the opportunity to have a rewarding future in work and life - no matter where they start their journey.
Our Mission is to inspire and equip young people, irrespective of their background, to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise education.
In everything that we do, we will work with the following values: Integrity, Enthusiasm, Creativity & Collaboration.
