Alison Oldroyd

Finance Education Officer

I'm an ex-teacher and lecturer, and have been involved in education, one way or another, for my whole career. I started off teaching PE, had a year or so out travelling, retrained with a business degree then worked in FE for the next27 years. As a mother I also realised how crucial some basic financial knowledge is needed when your offspring leave home!

Working firstly with SIFET and now joining with YES, has allowed me the opportunity to have the senior pupils think through issues and plan for their exciting futures- no two classes have the same reaction or questions which gives me a real buzz!

Away from work, I still love all sport, play golf, and travel, when I can..... And love nothing better than roaming the hills of my local area walking my cockapoo, Bonnie.
