Joan is an Assistant Director in Education Scotland with responsibility for the Developing Employability and Skills programme.

The programme captures the work Education Scotland leads on in relation to Scottish Government's Developing the Young Workforce programme. Joan returned full time to Education Scotland in April 2016 following an 18 month period as DYW Implementation Lead (Schools) shared across Scottish Government and Education Scotland. In the role Joan brought together collaborative partnerships working across relevant directorates within Scottish Government, Education Scotland , Skills Development Scotland and other partners.
