Highland and Moray students win over the Dragons

The Highland and Moray YES Area Board have been in touch about their Dragons Den event and it sounds like it went fabulously!

Over 80 students attended making up 10 teams from; Dingwall Academy, Farr High School, Forres Academy, Fortrose Academy, Invergordon Academy, Inverness Royal Academy, Lochaber High School, Mallaig High School, Millburn Academy and Nairn Academy. The teams were all at varying stages of their business lifecycle, some are already trading and others are still identifying their products and carrying out market research. The Dragons were very impressed with the high standard of presentations and research from the teams and the range of products and ideas that were presented this year. Business ideas ranged from Loch Ness drift wood tea light candle holders, to customised kite kits, kids activity books with a healthy eating slant, children's story book, wheat warmers, fire starter kits and seasonal hampers. The Dragons had a fund of £600 to share between the teams. Each team left with a cash injection and valuable feedback from the panel. The Highland and Moray Trade Fair takes place in Inverness on 8th December - this is a great chance for members of the public to come along and buy the products direct from the teams. It's the perfect opportunity to pick up a unique Christmas bargain!
