Mock Interviews: help needed

Young Enterprise Scotland is working with a number of schools and groups of young people to help them develop their employability skills and prepare for leaving school. As part of our programme the pupils have been getting ready to undertake mock interviews. This is a vital part of the programme and is essential to ensure we prepare these young people for the world of work by giving them the opportunity to undertake an interview before they are facing it for real upon leaving school. For many of the pupils this will be their very first experience of an interview. They will all be preparing for entry level position and have been thinking about standard questions they may be asked at interview.Could you spare some time to support these young people by carrying out some mock interviews? The calendar below gives details of some of the schools and dates:

Business volunteers Derek Toal, an Account Manager with BT, Karen Jamieson from JCP and Scott Torrance the CEO for Flux-Ventures all put pupils to the test with one to one interviews recently. This is what they said about the experience:Scott Torrance said he 'could see an improvement in everyone even as the interviews progressed.' Karen Jamieson said they were important in 'preparing young people for the reality of job seeking, what to expect and what to improve upon.'Derek Toal added the interviews were 'very worthwhile to improve the chances of young people entering the workplace or further education.'If you could spare some time to help with these mock interviews, please contact Marlyn Hosie at Young Enterprise Scotland: marlyn.hosie%40yes.org.uk or telephone: 0141 202 0650.Your support would be greatly appreciated!
