Stuart Miller Retires

Young Enterprise Scotland todayannounced that Stuart Miller has retired from his role of Chief Executive. During his 11 years in the position, Stuarthelped the organisation develop into a provider of enterprise learning for allyoung people and we achieved a great deal including:

Stuartwas also a finalist in Institute of Directors, Director of the Year Awards 2012in two categories - Voluntary Sector and Open Category for Glasgow and West Scotland.

GeoffLeask has been appointed Interim Chief Executive.

  • Growth in the number of young people supported from 4,000 to over 19,000
  • Widened the scope of YES to include working with young offenders, those in care and care leavers
  • Yes becoming an SQA Accredited Centre delivering Business Qualifications
  • The launch of The YES Academy @ Rouken Glen in July 2013. Led by James Ward, the Academy provides hard and soft landscaping training, and modern apprenticeships
  • The launch of the Bridge 2 Business in September 2013, which is led by Geoff Leask. This programme encourages FE College students to move towards self-employment
