Cool business brains across Scotland in line to scoop ice cream haul

  • YES is lead Scottish partner in the Ice Cream Business Dream competition
  • The most innovative and business-savvy design will scoop a year’s supply of ice cream from Wall’s.

Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) is encouraging S5 and S6 pupils across Scotland to chillout and get thinking about ice cream to be in with the chance of landing a once-in-a-lifetime prize.

YES is lead Scottish partner in the Ice Cream Business Dream competition - an enterprise challenge launched by the School of Marketing which is calling out for young people to create a new ice cream product.

The team behind the most innovative and business-savvy design will scoop a year's supply of ice cream from Wall's.

To be in with a chance of winning, young people must explain the reasons and motivation behind their design, talk about how it differs from everything else on the market, and explore brand values - and submit their business plan in a two-minute video.

YES chief executive Geoff Leask will be sprinkling some insider business knowledge on the competition.

Enterprise is all about innovation and about creating products in response to consumer demand. This competition will get rid of any post-exam brain freeze and will get young people all over Scotland thinking about something fun.

Ice cream is a product category that young people will really be able to engage with and we're looking forward to working with the School of Marketing to support young people in this entrepreneurial journey

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to work through a business plan from start to finish and to learn about all of the elements involved in bringing a product to life.

We're really excited about the Ice Cream Dream and we're hopeful that we're going to see a lot of really creative business plans.
