We've been working in collaboration with Scotland's Enterprising Schools to deliver programmes to primary pupils across Glasgow.
Alongside SES we are working with ten schools to deliver our Inventors Challenge to pupils between P4-7.
The young people spend their morning learning all about Scottish Inventors and what their world-altering inventions were.
We then start a process of mindmapping all of the brilliant ideas given by the young inventors to re-revolutionise, these range from simple (ever-charged battery), to innovative (phones which expand into tablets) to revolutionary (teleporting toilets) - the wackier the better!
In their teams, the pupils then decide which features will make it into the final diagram of their invention and draw this out nice and clearly to show their classmates.
In addition to this, the classes learn about promoting their product by creating a Logo and a Slogan after learning about various popular and well known brands. In the afternoon the classes either collect recycling objects in the run up to the challenge (plastic bottles, cans, cardboard boxes) and build a 'prototype' to show off, or they create and act in an advert to demonstrate how they would advertise their invention
We're having great fun delivering our Inventors Challenges and are looking forward to getting our High Street Challenges underway.
Our Vision is for Scotland to be a place where all young people are given the opportunity to have a rewarding future in work and life - no matter where they start
Our Mission is to inspire & equip all young people to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise.
In everything that we do, we will work with the following values: Integrity, Enthusiasm, Creativity & Collaboration.
