Proud Supporter’s Family Pizza Business Granted Investment

While we love to shout about the great work being done across the country by our young entrepreneurs, it's important to remember the people who dedicate their time behind the scenes to make our programmes as successful as they are.

One of these volunteers making waves is Anne Marie Cairney, who volunteers within our Dunbartonshire Local Area Team.

Wen she isn't working to improve opportunities for young people, she is the Managing Director of her family-run business The Victor Pizza Co.

The business has recently been granted the opportunity to expand and upgrade current production methods through a £152,000 grant from Scottish Enterprise.

An incredible investment if you ask us - the money will allow Victor Pizza to create new jobs and continue to secure existing roles whilst investing in new equipment too.

Not only do Victor Pizza produce a super tasty pizza, they have actually developed a way to use seaweed within their dough to provide a healthier alternative and are looking into supplying these to schools, colleges and other establishments across the UK.

I am pleased this £152,000 Scottish Enterprise grant will help create 15 full time jobs and safeguard seven jobs over the next three years at Victor Pizza.

Jamie Hepburn, Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills

Our investment and the grant from Scottish Enterprise will increase our sales and productivity to help build our profile.

Investing in the workforce is integral to the company's success as a small family run business and we provide continuous training, pay the Glasgow Living Wage and provide quality jobs with opportunities for career progression and development.

Anne Marie Cairney, MD Victor Pizza

Anne Marie dedicates time to meet with our LAT and as a team they ensure that our regional events are as successful as they can possibly be; as a team Dunbartonshire do so well that they are expecting to be working within 100% of schools in East Dunbartonshire and West Dunbartonshire this year- amazing!

If you'd like to find out more about volunteering within one of our regional teams you can find more information here, or contact Fraser.Morrison@yes.org.uk.
