Top contenders for The Inaugural Scottish Diversity Awards 2017 are announced

Creative Oceanic are proud to announce the first official Scottish Diversity Awards 2017, which seek to recognise the diverse minorities in Scotland. Hundreds of nominations were received from a campaign run over the past few months and the full list with finalists has now been compiled.

The black tie event will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow on Monday 11th of December.

Our very own Young Enterprise Scotland CEO, Geoff Leask is one of the finalists in the Third Sector CEO of the Year category. Young Enterprise Scotland will find out if we have won an accolade at the elegant ceremony held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel on 11th December.

I am delighted to see recognition of Young Enterprise Scotland in these most important Awards. Diversity is intrinsic to everything we do at Young Enterprise Scotland and we value this recognition as a finalist for the team's very hard work

Geoff Leask, YE Scotland CEO

The inaugural Scottish Diversity Awards will celebrate individuals, organisations, and businesses that actively contribute to the spread of diversity, equality, and empowerment across Scotland, making it a culturally-diverse and integrated country.

The event promises to be the start of what will be a very special journey. Numerous prestigious accolades will be awarded to the most deserving individuals and establishments. The awards will acknowledge the present-day struggle for equal opportunities for LGTB communities, people with disabilities, minorities, and men and women as a whole. The Scottish Diversity Awards aim to promote equality and to shine a light on the challenges many individuals experience nowadays.

We are delighted to see so many people getting involved in the inaugural Scottish Diversity Awards. We will learn from what has started and grow the awards every year. Large organisations have the capacity to promote what is being achieved however we also want to engage at a grassroot level so change is more engaging. Scotland prides itself as a welcoming country that provides space for everyone and aims to treat all people equally. The awards aim to highlight that. We would like to wish all the finalists the best of luck.
