Young Enterprise Scotland is awarded Investing in Volunteers quality standard

Young Enterprise Scotland is delighted to announce that we have successfully achieved Investing in Volunteers accreditation. Investing in Volunteers (IiV) is the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management and provides a framework to assess the quality of volunteer experience and involvement, and to prove and improve the effectiveness of volunteer activity.

Achieving the standard demonstrates how much the contribution of our volunteers is valued at YE Scotland and gives current and potential volunteers confidence in our commitment to providing an outstanding volunteer experience.

Young Enterprise Scotland was assessed against a range of best practice standards and shown to excel in all aspects of working with our volunteers. Assessment took place in the Autumn and involved interviews with 31 volunteers from across Scotland, 4 staff and 2 trustees.

"There's an open invitation to Rouken Glen, there's always a welcome, there's a friendly warm feel, you can speak to them at all levels."

"Their enthusiasm is contagious, their focus is clear: we're going to try to achieve THIS."

"I've nothing but praise for them for the 18 months prior to lockdown. They've upped their game."

Over the last 10 months, the volunteer support team at YE Scotland has reviewed and improved the volunteer programme to ensure that it is relevant, well-resourced and contributes to achieving YE Scotland's goals. We have built an inclusive, collaborative culture where volunteers feel valued, supported and equipped with knowledge of relevant systems and processes and we are delighted to see this recognised by the assessors at Investing in Volunteers.
