Young Enterprise Scotland Volunteer wins Educational Supporter of the Year

  • Award recognition for YE Scotland Volunteer
  • 16 years of service inspiring and supporting young people in Ayrshire

The Scottish Education Awards celebrate the hard work and success which takes place in Scottish education.

They recognise the achievements of people who dedicate their lives to children and young people and showcase the valuable work and innovation in Scottish classrooms.

The Scottish Education Awards were first launched in November 2001 by the Scottish Government and the Scottish Daily Record, with the specific aims of celebrating the successes and recognising the achievements taking place within Scottish education.

You can imagine our delight when we learned that one of our Volunteers, Walter Smith from Ayrshire, was successful in being nominated and winning the Educational Supporter of the Year category.

Walter has supported North Ayrshire schools in the Company Programme for 16/17 years now starting with Arran High.

This year he has assisted three companies from Greenwood High and is delighted to say that 36 young people sat the YES exam and all had an excellent set of results.
