High Street Challenge is designed to inspire young people in S1 - S3 in the subject of business through a day-long project that also encourages creative thinking and team-working.
Students consider the decline of the High Street. They then work in groups to create an enterprise that will help to regenerate their local area, while also meeting the needs of the community.
Learners will reflect on their own skills and aptitudes before selecting appropriate job roles within the team. They will then generate ideas for their business, identify the market and their competitors, and consider costs. Finally they will create branding to promote their enterprise before designing and delivering a pitch.
The Challenge enables the pupils to develop their enterprising skills in a real-life context, while also reflecting on their roles as Responsible Citizens, Confident Individuals, Effective Contributors and Successful Learners.
Our Vision is for Scotland to be a place where all young people are given the opportunity to have a rewarding future in work and life - no matter where they start their journey.
Our Mission is to inspire and equip young people, irrespective of their background, to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise education.
In everything that we do, we will work with the following values: Integrity, Enthusiasm, Creativity & Collaboration.
