Scotland’s Financial Schools

Progression Pathway

Posted by Gillian Darroch Programme Executive, Young Enterprise Scotland

Progression Pathway

This progression pathway aims to support practitioners and build confidence in developing, planning and teaching financial education within their establishments. There are individual documents for each level, but all follow the same format to provide a clear and coherent progression. The pathway links directly to Curriculum for Excellence with Experiences and Outcomes being highlighted throughout.

The core financial skills within the pathway have been set out across four themes:

• How to manage money

• Becoming a critical consumer

• Managing risks and emotions associated with money

• Understand the important role money plays in our lives

The pathway is not exhaustive and can be altered and adapted to suit the needs of your pupils.
