With the recent credit rating of our Young Enterprise Scotland Company Programme at SCQF Level 6 we are expecting an increase in the number of young people wishing to take part - could you play a part in helping develop the skills of young people in Scotland?
There are a couple of ways that you could get involved as follows:
1. Local Area Team Volunteer
Working together with a group of other volunteers and Young Enterprise staff to support the delivery of the Young Enterprise Scotland Company Programme. Activities include recruiting, training and supporting Business Advisers/Centre Leads, organising and running competition events, developing relationships with supporting organisations, networking and local fund raising to support the delivery of the programme.
In conjunction with your local Area Team Chair, each LAT develops an Annual Plan which includes the specific roles, responsibilities and contributions of each LAT member.
Benefits to students
The Company Programme experience for students is maximised when all companies have access to well-informed and supported Business Advisers/Centre Leads, when induction and competition events are of a high quality and inspiring, and when a dynamic group of local business volunteers works well with the Young Enterprise staff team.
Benefits to volunteers
In addition to your rewarding contribution to the students' experience, this can provide the opportunity to play a leadership role within your local community, develop new skills and network with local business people.
2. Business Adviser
The Programme relies upon volunteer Business Advisers to support and guide theteams, working closely with the CentreLead in eachschool.
These volunteers are from local business and industry who are willing to share their skills, knowledge and experience with students. The BA provides an important external perspective and a link to the 'real world' of business, extending the students' experience beyond what can be provided within the school. The BA acts as an external role model for students and leverages their business expertise and
knowledge of current business practices.
Young Enterprise Scotland could not achieve what it does without the very willing and able band of volunteers from across all corners of Scotland - they are very special people making a difference to the future life chances of our young people.
If you would like to get involved then please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information - we are open to applications from all areas and have greater opportunities in Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Forth Valley
Our Vision is for Scotland to be a place where all young people are given the opportunity to have a rewarding future in work and life - no matter where they start their journey.
Our Mission is to inspire and equip young people, irrespective of their background, to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise education.
In everything that we do, we will work with the following values: Integrity, Enthusiasm, Creativity & Collaboration.
